Are you sure? I've played this game for 12 months and I've played alot of RA, but I've never seen something simular to:"ZOMg Nub, Ur making UP NumberZ!!"...
Or is it simply because my own builds kick arse

How about.... a "shuffle" option when making a character, it ramdomly selects through a number of pre-made builds? Personally i would preffer to just have 8 of my own pre-made builds to save me from buying new character slots to save me from re-making all the time. As for tweaking... those builds are GvG builds realy and need tweaking for use in other PvP areas in my opinion.

The hot stepper is such a rip off of melandru's fang. I'm so sick of seeing assasins unload that build in pvp, that I brought a few counter skills with it just so I can personally kick their asses. Also if you challenge ANY assassin in your guild to a 1 v 1 scrimmage, you'll be sure as hell they brought the horned ox build.

I think the winning guild from each season should be allowed to put in their own premades every season, to keep them fresh and useful.

That's because it works, and because with the combo you can do two dual attacks (well, 1 dual and another dual of your choice) without having to use two leads.
Also, that Melandru's Fang premade was a R/W which used expertise, not an A/N with AOD.

The Premades are there for the NEW PLAYERS that haven't unlocked any/enough skills to be competitive in PvP.
You try to go into team Arenas or something with the cruddy skills they give you when you start a pve character.
The premades now are decent, popular builds with tweaks to them to make them alittle less effective so the new player has a goal of unlocking the skills to make them better.

Well, I know the pre-mades are great! Because they really are. But, one of my points is that, do we really want players focused around those builds inparticular and not noticing anything else?

stop flaming zaza because he changes the build to something HE likes, even though you may not like it

finally, the premades can be considered "perfect". in fact, i bet most gvgers can throw 8 premades together and get *gasp* a true balanced build! of course, there will have to be a few modifications (putting Extinguish and Windborne Speed on the Flashbot, for example), but those builds are the real deal, or at least very close to them.

wow just wow. can i please point out your obviously FLAWED view of this premade?
first off frenzy is in there for a faster attack rate. frenzy + eviscerate + executioners = nice dmg spike. there is a cancel stance to it. ever thought of hitting sprint when youre getting attacked? i have seen the conjure lightning work decent in very limited builds, but for the most part, bringing that = free energy management for anyone that brought drain enchant or free damage from shater enchant. and lastly, shock is not on that bar to do damage. shock is on that bar to provide a knockdown for a kiting monk before your spike, or to stall runners trying for flagstand to force a morale boost, or if used in a heros ascent setting, for interrupting the ghostly or again a kiting monk.

Kiting anything for that matter. I prefer using bulls strike though as being linked to strength it provides a decent amount of damage to go with your spike as a knockdown without the exhaustion.

i know this. im responding to his post where he is putting points into air magic for shock to do more damage, which was NEVER the reason why its on that bar in the first place. I do agree that the only modification to that premade is dropping axe rake for bulls strike though.

You mean templates? They are on the skill pane. Which means they are for already made characters (ie PvE characters). They serve a totally different purpose to premades.

Shock isnt just for kiting enemies, good interupt for res etc. Shock is much more versatile than bull's strike as foe does not have to be moving.

That's why I'd go for an actual interrupt. It takes a full 30 seconds to recover from exhaustion completely and if it's used as an interrupt as well as kd for kiting, it can build up very easily. While I wont say it's a bad skill to use, I will say that in my opinion, bull's strike + distracting blow/disrupting chop is a better option than shock + axe rake.
